Universal Design for Learning and the Inclusive Pedagogical Approach in Action, along with differentiated instruction are touted as vital frameworks that inform the most inclusive educational environments possible.
Both approaches complement each other to provide a holistic approach to inclusive practices that support ALL students in the mainstream classroom. Understanding and embracing these frameworks will provide you with the foundations to creating and providing an inclusive environment for your classroom and/or school. This course will give you some understanding of the policies that guide inclusion, in particular the Disability Discrimination Act (1992) and the Disability Standards for Education (2005) and understanding the responsibilities you have as an educator to ensure that all children are provided an equitable right to education.
