This course will give you a foundation from which to start your iPad journey and on the way to becoming a 21st Century educator. I started my journey when the iPad first came out and it was like being thrown in at the deep end of the pool. I originally found as many apps as I could and then tried to work them all into my teaching. I now believe it is a far simpler and a more realistic prospect to start with a small group of apps and then you can build from there.
Why iPads?
Learn how to create experiences for students to use apps to cement learning. Learn how to create a 21st Century educational classroom. Have a clear rationale for why you are using mobile devices in your classroom. Understand how using technology fits into a 21st Century educational environment.
Creative Apps
By the end of this topic you will be able to: Know how to use four apps and creativity, screencasting and augmented reality apps in an educational context.
Augmented Reality Apps
By the end of this topic you will be able to: Identify and be familiar with 2 types of augmented reality apps and know how you can use these apps in your lessons. Understand how to use augmented reality apps to assist with differentiation, flip teaching and individualisation in the classroom.
Screencasting Apps
Identify and be familiar with four screencasting apps and know how you can use these apps in your lessons. Understand how to use screencasting for differentiation, flip teaching and individualisation in the classroom.
